     He may be young, but he already has his goals set and the work ethic to get there.  Nathan attends all his classes, works on his Karate from the moment he steps upon the dojo floor until the class is over, and even then he usually stays and gets help or tests after his classes.
    During class he always gives forth 100% effort, has the utmost control and focus, and his enthusiastic Kiai's can be heard clearly among his fellow students.  Most Friday's he stays after class to watch the Demo Team practice, and with a calm certainty you can see in his eyes he knows he will be there someday.
     Nathan is focused, goal orientated, talented and a joy to teach.  If he stays on the path he has set for himself, he will have no trouble reaching his goals either in or out of the dojo.  Keep up the great work Nathan.

     Again, due to popular requests, a number of our students will again be competing in the above tournament.  Anyone interested in either competing or simply wishing to be a spectator, please ask us for further information. As before, you can compete in Sparring, Kata or both.  It is the largest Karate tournament in the area and only comes around once a year.  The Dojo will be CLOSED that Saturday, since we want to be at the tournament to support our students.

  It's finally here!  The Black Belt Club!

                      What is the Black Belt Club?
      United World Martial Arts has developed a specific program based on Black Belt Excellence.  The Black Belt Club is a very special group of students who have dedicated themselves to Black Belt Excellence.   Black Belt Club members are all serious martial artists who have committed themselves to the goal of obtaining their Black Belt.  They strive for excellence in all aspects of life, as well as developing their physical skills and knowledge of all aspects of the martial arts.  They are Committed, Dedicated, Confident, Determined and Enthusiastic.  They represent all the best qualities of what a Black Belt should be.  They are the Black Belts and Instructors of the future, the core of the school and they best represent what United World Martial Arts stands for.

              Who can qualify for the Black Belt Club?
     In order to be a member of the Black Belt Club you must be at least 9 years of age.  You must also be at least a GREEN BELT and have your own pair of Sais.  When you feel you’re ready for the program we will set a date to determine if you will benefit from this advanced training.  If it’s in your best interest you will begin your journey into the Black Belt Club.

     UWMA's LIFE program has now been in swing for over a year.  "Low Impact Fitness Exercise" (better known as the L.I.F.E. Program) is a  unique workout designed for adults to get most of the benefits of our "Kickboxing" program with a slightly scaled down impact and intensity.  L.I.F.E. is similar to Tai Chi, but with a bit more emphasis on fitness than on simple stretching.
     In this fun packed class, participants will not only improve their flexibility, but will also strengthen and tone their muscles and work their cardiovascular.  We are taking enrollment NOW for new classes starting in March.  Classes will be on Monday's and Friday's, from 9AM to 9:45PM.
