Cole was our first "Lil Ninja" before there even was a Lil Ninja program.  Cole started as a 4 year old on a trial basis to test the focus on one so young, not only did he pave the way for other young children, he did so with flying colors.
Cole isn't in a hurry to get his black belt but a black belt he will eventually achieve.  He just turned 8 in October, and will soon get his purple belt, an amazing achievement for one so young.  Most karate schools "water down" the material for young children, teaching them way less than the older kids learn, this is not the case at UWMA.
He attends every Little Dragon class available to him, not because he is forced to, but because he enjoys Karate so much and hates to miss a class. Cole is often found helping his fellow students, and is even a big help demonstrating and helping in our "Lil Ninja's" program. Cole has also been known as the "kid who tests a lot", but he is learning that the most important part is the practice between tests, not the test itself.
Whenever Cole hits the dojo floor, he does ALL his Kata's, not just his current one, and has done this since yellow belt.  Cole may not be in a hurry, he is enjoying the "ride" to Black Belt, but we have every confidence he will achieve that awesome goal as he pushes forward.  We are proud of all our students whenever they arrive at their next belt, and making purple belt while just turning 8 makes us all very proud of Cole.

Our Halloween "Workout" was again a great success!

Over 70 children attended the event, and each had a "spooky" good time.  From the Haunted House to the bag of treats they received, the smiles were frequent and plentiful as you will see by the pictures.
Two special THANK YOU'S:  First, to all the parents and students who donated bags of candy!  As you could see by the size of the candy bags we gave each child, we used every piece (well.. one or two may have "disappeared" since I love chocolate!).  We usually purchase all the candy ourselves, and the donated items were a big help.
Second, a very big THANKS to all our instructors (pictured above) who helped out, because without them the event wouldn't be possible.  From running stations to spooking out the students in the Haunted House, the instructors not only helped immensely, but they all had fun doing so.

As always, myself and Master Sanchez put in a lot of effort to attempt to make sure a family could attend and not "break the bank", and we are already working hard this year to do so.  Oh, and don't forget, grandma and grandpa or other relatives are welcome.

Note:  Santa is again, like last year, rumored to attend!  Also we will be awarding all 12 of this years Students of the Month a special award, and not to mention our "Student of the Year" and "Instructor of the Year" awards.

We don't do them often, but when we do they are always fun for everyone involved, instructors, students and their parents.
This time we had two back to back parent student workouts...  Lil' Ninja's and Little Dragon's.  We had so much fun that we decided to post a few of the pictures from the classes... enjoy!
