If you can read the sign
behind Bob, "Nobody ever drowned in Sweat"... Bob comes
close! There is another saying Bob reminds me of... give
it 110%. Although it may seem mathematically impossible to
give more than a 100% of your effort... Bob proves it can be
done. He always leaves it all on the Dojo floor. Just when
you think he's given his all, he digs down deeper and keeps
plugging away. There is no low or easy gear for Bob, it's
always full out.
With a long background in Kempo Karate, all the way to
Brown Belt, Bob is yet another student who decided to start over
at white belt at our School and work his way to a Black Belt
that he felt was more fulfilling. Yet another testament to
his solid work ethic.
Bob was also recently promoted to the select few we are
proud to call instructors at our school. Awesome job Bob.
You set a great example to all our students on the true meaning
of the word attitude.

Our Halloween
"Workout" makes it's Fourth return!
Date:
Friday, October 27th.
Times:
Little Ninja's - Normal Class Time.
5:15 to 5:45.
Little Dragons & 9 - 12 Year Olds COMBINED!
6PM to 7:30PM.
COSTUMES!
COSTUMES! COSTUMES! Both age groups are highly recommended to
come in Costume, NOT Gi. This is actually a Halloween Party,
not a "workout". Just as last year, the Dojo will supply
the treats and more importantly, the fun!
Although the emphasis is on fun, and we will mainly be
doing things like obstacle courses and such, the students will still
be required to be able to "move around' a good amount. Any
costumes are welcome, but ones enabling movement are preferred. But
Fear Not! "Masks" or other costume parts inhibiting movement or
visibility can simply be removed while the student is active.
Try your best to attend! the last three years were a
blast... and rumor has it that the very popular "fun house" will be
even bigger, better and Scarier than before!
See You There!

Our great
anticipated "family fun" Christmas Party is in the planning stages
already. The dates/prices below are what were shooting for:
Date/Time:
Saturday, December 2nd, 5PM - ?
Place:
Oakwood Manor, Lakeview Road, The place with the Tank, Jet and
Helicopter out front, and across the street from the
Hamburg Town Arena.
Cost:
Anyone 5 or younger: $6.00
All Students
(ages 6 and up): $12.00
Non-Students:
$15.00
Most of the other
information remains the same as last year: We will
supply an all
you can eat buffet, from the same caterer as last year, because of
the awesome feedback we received on the food.
Again, as far as beverages, we will still have a variety of
free pops available at the bar and alcohol will also be available
and ran by Oakwood as a "cash bar".
As always, myself and Master Sanchez
wanted to make sure a family could attend and not "break the bank".
Oh, and don't forget, grandma and grandpa or other relatives are
welcome.
PLEASE register with us As Soon As Possible! It
is very important that we report the number attending well in
advance of the event.
This is our once a year party, and if it goes half as
well as previous years, it will be a superb way to kick start
Christmas! We hope you can ALL attend.
We don't get to mingle often on a "non-karate" basis, and I know the
time spent together all year long in the Dojo forms close bonds
between a lot of people, and this is an incredible way to let loose
with our "Dojo friends and family".
Note: Santa is again, like last year,
rumored to attend! Also we will be awarding all 12 of this
years Students of the Month a special award, and not to mention our
"Student of the Year" award.

This is our second
annual Demo at the Fairgrounds sponsored by D.A.R.E. The
event is to celebrate "Red Ribbon Week" which is to promote
"Drug Awareness". Last years Demo was such a huge success,
and for such a great cause, that we felt strongly enough about
it to include our entire Karate School this year.
The DEMO team put on an superb performance last year in front
of an enthusiastic crowd, and is looking forward to joining with
the rest of the school for an even better show!
The event takes place on Wednesday, October 25th.
The location is the Erie County Fairgrounds Grange Building.
The doors open at 6PM, and we would like all our students there
by 6:15.
For those of you who may be interested, there are
chicken dinners available for preorder, see Mrs. Kim for
details, and there are also games available for entertainment.
This is a good event for a great cause, hope to see you there!
P.S. The Karate classes for that day are of course
cancelled, BUT Cardio and RCT will still be held at their normal
times of 8PM. |
