We had a lot of "Request" recently to show the children (and their parents!) how to properly tie a Karate belt so it looks proper and also stays tied.  We posted instructions on how to do so here.  Simply click on the picture above for the correct method of tying.

We have been asked frequently to explain "Board Testing", so here is a quick breakdown for you.
First off, board testing is REQUIRED ONLY for belts Brown and Above.  Once you have been tested and signed off on all your required material, the instructor will then set a time for you to "Board Test".  This will be on a Friday night, usually between 7PM and 9PM (if for any reason Friday's are not possible for you, special arrangements can be made, ask Master Sanchez or Sensei Butch).
The board test will be conducted by Master Sanchez, Sensei Butch and Sensei Mike.  The student will be required to test on ALL the new material he has learned for his/her next belt, and at any time may also be required to perform previous belt requirements.
A "point" system will be in effect for the board test, and the student must achieve a minimum score for belt advancement.  If for some reason they fall short of the score, another board test will be set that night.
Upon joining our school, you received a folder which explains, in detail, how the "point system" works for testing.  Also included in the folder is all the required information for each belt rank.  If you didn't receive these, or simply lost them, ask us for new ones.  I hope this clears things up for you, and if you still need further information, please ask.
