A new Orange belt and chosen as Student of the Month for January, a great way to start a new year for a great student.  A dedicated student of our adult Karate program, Kearsten is a friend to all and a true joy to teach.  Always eager to learn and more than willing to put forth the effort required, she has managed to climb to orange belt rather quickly, but more importantly, and harder to find in a martial arts student, is that you can sense that she already understands "that it's not the destination but the journey that's important".  Often we see students who focus on the "Black belt" as opposed to focusing on what your learning to get there... you watch Kearsten on the Dojo floor and simply know, by her physical and mental actions, that she's the latter.   
   Superb job Kearsten, keep making everyone smile and thanks for making 2008's first student of the month an easy choice... I couldn't picture a better student to start the new year out with.
