Chris!  What can be said about Chris that isn't evident when you see him in action?  Chris is another one of our students who made the transition from another school.  As you may have noticed, we allow Chris to wear the brown belt he achieved at the other school.  If a student comes to us, BROWN belt or HIGHER, we will view their skills to see if they earn the honor of wearing their current belts on our dojo floor, as opposed to wearing white.
    Needless to say, Chris more than passed our screening  (Although he still has to "board test" for each belt like everyone else).  Chris and his dad felt he wasn't being challenged enough, so they sought out Master Sanchez because Chris had him as an instructor previously.  Chris now seems truly happy in his new environment, and we do our best to keep him challenged!
    Chris is also a proud member of our Demo Team, and his awesome karate skills are evident not only with his fellow Demo Team members, but every time he steps onto the Dojo floor.   Chris, keep up the hard work, keep pushing yourself as you already do, and who knows?  With your martial arts skills I hear that  Jackie Chan is due to retire soon and they may need a younger replacement! Practice Hard Chris!

     Wow.  A year already?  We would like to invite all our current students, and anyone else possibly interested in becoming a student, to our one year anniversary party!  As stated above, it will be held on Saturday night, August 21st, from 6PM to 8PM. 
     UWMA will supply food and drinks, kids will be able to have a chance to "break boards" and everyone will enjoy watching the Demo team as they put on a show at 7PM.  Remember, this is open to anyone, so bring your friends and proudly show them your Karate school!

  Finally!  The last of our four part series.  This section will tie together everything you have read about thus far, and explain how this dojo finally came to be.

      The students listed below are the FIRST students to receive our "DEDICATED ALLSTAR" award!  They all have completed ONE YEAR of martial arts training with us at UWMA and they will each receive a "Red Star Patch" to sew unto their Gi's below their American Flag Patch to proudly show their fellow students their commitment to training.
 

NOTE:  A patch is awarded for each full year of training, and a GOLD ALLSTAR PATCH is awarded if the student completes five years.  The patches are cumulative (you keep adding them to your Gi).

      Please note, there have been significant schedule changes starting September first!  Note the following changes:
1)   Mondays, 6PM - 6:45 is little dragons beginners!
      White and Yellow belts ONLY
2)   Mondays, 7PM - 8PM is Advanced Youth. 
      Orange belt and above for ages 5 thru 12.
3)   Mondays, Cardio is now 8PM - 9PM.
4)   Tuesdays, 6PM - 6:45PM is beginner youth!
      White and yellow ONLY for ages 9 - 12.
5)   Tuesdays, 7PM - 8PM is beginner adults.
      White thru orange ONLY
6)   Wednesday, 7PM - 8PM is advanced adults.
       Green and above ONLY
7)   Wednesdays, 8PM - 9PM Cardio
8)   Thursdays, 8:15PM - 9:15PM, RCT is back!
9)   Fridays. Sparring is now 45 minutes, 6PM - 6:45PM
10) All Saturday classes are now 45 minutes long.
      The other 15 minutes is "Open Floor" for testing or simply
      seeking help with your material.
